Social media account disconnected

If your Facebook Messenger, Instagram Direct, or WhatsApp account shows as disconnected, or you're no longer receiving messages, follow this guide to troubleshoot the issue.

Why Accounts Disconnect

Accounts often disconnect due to token expiration. Facebook and Instagram tokens usually expire every 60 days, we try our best to generate long-live tokens where possible. Additionally, if the Facebook Page admin who connected the account changes their password, the connection can be disrupted.

How to Reconnect

Reconnect Facebook/Messenger

To reconnect your Facebook or Messenger account, go to the Accounts page for Facebook Messenger or Facebook and click Reconnect or Connect again.

Reconnect Instagram Direct

To reconnect your Instagram Direct account, navigate to the Accounts page for Instagram Direct and click Reconnect or Connect again.

NOTE: If your Meta account holds both a Facebook and Instagram account, you will only need to re-sync once (for Facebook, Messenger, Instagram and Instagram Direct).

Reconnect WhatsApp

For WhatsApp, ensure your phone number remains registered with WhatsApp Business. If the number is ported or the SIM is changed, you'll need to reconnect. Go to the relevant Accounts page and follow the prompts to restore the connection.

NOTE: Your WhatsApp connection is not related to your Meta connections (for Facebook, Messenger, Instagram and Instagram Direct).

Ensure Proper Permissions

The Facebook Page admin who performs the initial connection must have Manage Page permissions. This ensures all features work smoothly.

Receiving Messages

Once you've reconnected, new messages will flow into your account. Please note that messages sent while your account was disconnected may not be recovered.
