How Listeners Work

A listener in Studiio is someone from your audience who has contacted your station through any channel. This could be via SMS/MMS, Email, Phone Call, Facebook Messenger, Instagram Direct, or WhatsApp.

Automatic Profile Creation

As soon as someone contacts your station for the first time, Studiio automatically creates a profile for them. There's no need for you to add them manually. This makes it easy to manage new contacts.

Cross-Channel Profile Building

Studiio smartly compiles interactions from different channels into a single listener profile. If a person texts and later emails your station, Studiio will link these interactions. This linking is done using their phone number or email address. You can then view their complete interaction history across all channels in one place.

What a Listener Profile Contains

  • Name (if known)

  • Phone number

  • Email address

  • Location (city, state, country)

  • Contact channel badges (SMS, Email, Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp)

  • Interaction timeline

  • Engagement history per channel

  • Any membership or donation records

  • Notes added by your team

  • A location map

How Listeners Work

Listener Tiers

Studiio automatically categorizes listeners based on their interaction frequency. They can be badged as New Listener, Frequent Listener, or Top Listener. This helps you recognize your most engaged audience members.

Managing Listeners

You can search, filter, and sort your listener database by going to Listeners > Browse. Filters include options like contact method and listener tier, making it easy to find specific audience members.

Listeners vs. Users

It's important to understand that listeners are your audience members — those who reach out to your station. Users, on the other hand, are your team members who log into the Studiio dashboard. These are two distinct groups within the platform.
