Phone calls not connecting or routing incorrectly

If you're experiencing issues with incoming calls not connecting or being routed incorrectly, follow these steps to troubleshoot.

Check Call Routing Configuration

Navigate to Phone Calls > Routing. Verify that the routing rules match your current show time. This ensures calls are directed to the correct endpoint.

Ensure the Destination Phone Number is Correct

Check that the destination phone number in the routing settings is both correct and reachable. Errors here can cause routing issues.

Confirm Call Screener is Active

If using the Call Screener, make sure a presenter has the Screener open in their browser and they are connected to the endpoint.

If using the Phone block in a Studio Panel, ensure a presenter is connected to the endpoint.

Verify Phone Number Assignment

Check that the phone number is assigned to the correct station by going to SMS & MMS > Phone Numbers. Incorrect assignment may cause calls to route differently.

Check Ring Timeout Settings

If calls are going straight to voicemail, ensure the routing destination is answering within the ring timeout period. This avoids calls being missed.

Resolve Audio Quality Issues

If there are audio quality issues, verify the presenter's internet connection and ensure microphone permissions are correctly configured in the browser.

By following these steps, you should be able to resolve most issues with incoming phone calls not connecting or routing incorrectly.
