How Permissions Work

Permissions in Studiio control what each non-manager team member can see and do. To create and manage permission sets, go to Settings > Permissions.

How Permissions Work

Permission Sets

Each permission set has a name, icon, and colour. They consist of individual permissions grouped by area.

Permission Areas

These are the areas and what they cover:

  • Personal Identifiable Information (PII) — view listener contact details like phone numbers and email addresses.

  • SMS/MMS — view, reply, delete, manage settings, report.

  • SMS Triggers — view, add, edit, delete.

  • Emails — view, reply, manage, delete, report.

  • Phone Calls — view, operate (answer/make calls), manage, delete, report.

  • Phone Endpoints — view, add, delete.

  • Phone Numbers — view, add, delete.

  • Facebook Messenger — view, reply, manage, delete.

  • Instagram Direct — view, reply, manage, delete.

  • WhatsApp — view, reply, manage.

  • Facebook — view, reply, manage, delete.

  • Instagram — view, reply, manage, delete.

  • Meta Accounts (Facebook/Instagram) — view, add, delete.

  • Listeners — view, manage, delete, block.

  • Content — view, manage, delete.

  • Shows — view, manage, delete.

  • Schedules — view, manage, delete.

  • Noticeboard — view, manage, delete.

  • Alerts — view, manage, delete.

  • Studio Panels — view, manage, delete.

  • Consumers — view, manage, delete.

  • Widgets — manage.

  • Integrations — manage.

  • Chat — manage.

  • API Keys — manage.

  • Users — manage.

  • Permissions — manage.

  • Billing — manage.

  • Station Info — manage.

  • Web Calls — view, manage, operate.

Permission Dependencies

Some permissions depend on others. For instance, you cannot give someone 'reply to SMS' without also giving them 'view SMS'. Studiio enforces these dependencies automatically.

Default Permissions

Some permissions are set to default for all users, like view SMS and view listeners. These are sensible defaults you can remove if needed.

Practical Example

A typical radio presenter might have view and reply permissions for SMS and Phone Calls. They would not have access to Billing, Station Info, Users, or Permissions.

Manager Users

Manager users bypass the permissions system (all features are accessible). This system only applies to non-manager users.
